Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman. The Corcoran Group, an NYC real estate brokerage, was founded by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran then exited the business. One of the show's first "Shark" investors, Corcoran has appeared in all 12 seasons of ABC's Shark Tank until now. In February of 2020 Corcoran had signed 53 deals, with the most significant being a $350,000 investment which covered 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran is the second child of 10 from a working-class Irish-Catholic family, was born in Edgewater in New Jersey. Florence, her mother was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was always changing jobs during Corcoran's entire life. Her family sometimes depended on free food delivery from a local, friendly grocery store. Corcoran remembers her father, who was a drunk at times excessively, and treated her mother disrespectfully and condescendingly, particularly after he'd consumed some drinks. Corcoran struggled through her schooling and was diagnosed with dyslexia. Corcoran began the high school system in St. Cecilia High School Englewood after she had left her Catholic elementary school. After failing several courses in her freshman year, Corcoran transferred to Leonia High School and was a D-student when she graduated.
